MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Fling versus Maybelline Define-A-Brow in Light Blonde

Eyebrows are perhaps one of the most important features on a woman's face. They outline your face and give each individual a mood depending on the shape. I have a light brown/dirty blond hair color and it is difficult for me to find an eyebrow pencil that matches!

I came across the MAC eyebrow pencil in the color Fling and it seemed to work perfectly for my hair color. While I do love this pencil, I have been looking for a cheaper alternative that can do the same job. I did not realize how hard it was to find a matching eyebrow pencil! So here are my thoughts on these two:

MAC in Fling: This pencil a thin tipped cool-tone brown that does not appear reddish at all. The thin tip allows for precise application allowing you to shape your eyebrows. The pencil is a tiny bit waxy which is a good thing because it will hold shape better and longer.

Maybelline in Light Blonde: This pencil is thin tipped just like the MAC version (see picture) allowing for precise application. The difference here is that it can appear a bit warmer in color than the MAC pencil (see swatch). While they are not a 100% color match, both seem to work well with light hair colors! There is a comb at the end of the pencil which I definitely like to use if I went a bit crazy with the coloring and want to remove a bit off my eyebrows.

Depending on the area you live in, the Maybelline pencil is almost 3 times cheaper than the MAC pencil but I believe you do get less product inside the Maybelline pencil.

If you are like me, and fill in your brows daily, these pencils tend to run out before you know it. My only suggestion is to try them both and see which works best for you. If the MAC survives longer than the Maybelline, it is definitely worth buying. Both pencils seem to do a very good job.
